The City of Syracuse Comprehensive Plan represents the city’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and community development.
The last version was released in 2014, and it was time for a re-brand which has an updated look and feel to reflect the last decade of growth.
Embody the city’s future in transportation, infrastructure, housing, and environmental initiatives in a modern and inviting way.
We explored existing city colors and logos to ensure brand consistency and promote connectivity.
Forming an art direction, we aimed toward modular designs and motifs.
The moodboard takes inspiration from layered vector illustrations and symbolic color systems.

The brand mark was designed to bring in all of the city’s initiatives into one landscape, such as environmental, infrastructure, housing, and transportation.

The brand mark is evenly spaced for visual balance.
"Our City, Our Future," reflects the forward thinking that is shaping city planning now until 2050.

The design shown below as used within the Comprehensive Plan on the syr.gov website, diagrams, and print materials.

A strong look and feel for a stronger city.
A visual system for the document was developed, ensuring all parts of the design were cohesive for implementation in the printed materials.
